Pricing & Contracts
How much does TechFort cost?
Flat per-machine monthly pricing, scoped to the coverage your business actually needs. That includes monitoring, patching, security, backups, and support. You get an exact fixed quote after a free assessment, and it doesn't move - no hourly meter, no surprise line items.
Are there really no extra charges?
Day-to-day support, onboarding a new employee's computer, security alerts, the fifth call in a week - all covered by the flat rate. Genuinely separate projects (an office move, a server replacement) get their own fixed quote agreed before work starts. Nothing is ever billed by surprise.
Do you require long-term contracts?
No - month to month. We keep your environment documented from day one, so leaving is easy if we stop earning it. Confidence in the service is the retention strategy.
Is managed IT cheaper than hiring someone?
For most businesses under ~100 employees, dramatically. A capable IT hire in the Spokane market costs $70K+ with benefits; managed coverage for a 20-machine office is a fraction of that - with no vacation gap and a deeper bench.
Support & Response
What does "same-day response" actually mean?
A human tech contacts you with a plan the same business day - usually within the hour. Not an auto-reply, not a ticket confirmation. Genuine system-down emergencies get handled after hours too.
Do you answer the phone or is it a ticket portal?
Call, email, or text - your choice. There is a ticketing system underneath (so nothing falls through cracks), but you never have to interact with it to get help.
Can you support remote employees?
Yes - secure remote tools cover laptops anywhere. Home offices, job sites, the lake cabin in July. If it has internet, we can fix it.
Do you come on-site?
Yes. Spokane, Spokane Valley, Liberty Lake, Coeur d'Alene, Post Falls, and Hayden are all regular-route territory, usually same-day or next-morning when hands-on work is needed.
Switching to TechFort
How disruptive is switching IT providers?
Far less than staying with one you don't trust. We handle the transition behind the scenes - collecting credentials, documenting systems, installing our tools - typically without your staff losing any work time. Most onboardings complete within two weeks.
What if our current provider won't cooperate?
It happens, and we know the playbook: what to request, what you legally own (hint: your passwords and your data), and how to recover access when documentation is held hostage. You don't have to manage that fight alone.
What does the free assessment include?
A structured look at your machines, network, backups, security posture, and licensing. You get the findings in plain English whether or not you hire us - including "you're actually in decent shape," if that's the truth.
Security & Compliance
What security is included in managed plans?
Endpoint detection & response (EDR), enforced multi-factor authentication, email filtering and authentication, automated patching, and isolated, tested backups - on every plan. Security is the baseline, not an upsell tier.
Can you help with cyber insurance applications?
Yes - it's one of our most-requested services now. We implement the controls carriers require (MFA, EDR, tested backups, training records), keep the evidence, and help you answer the questionnaire accurately so coverage holds up when it matters.
We're still on Windows 10 - how urgent is that?
Urgent enough to plan now: free security updates ended October 2025, and paid Extended Security Updates double to $122/device this October. A planned migration is calmer and usually cheaper than another year of ESU rent.
